Happy September!

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it".

 — Steve Jobs

SAHRA Conference

It is our third year participating at the SAHRA conference, and we are incredibly excited.  What is different this year is that the board of directors decided to be a sponsor at the meeting.  We are one of the speakers in their educational program to share the value of coaching conversations with managers, individuals, and teams on the first day of the meeting.  When the HR Leaders require an external coach, we want them to come to ICF Sacramento "Find A Coach" on our website. You may want to make sure your profiles are up to date; it is one of your membership benefits.

News from ICF Global

ICF Foundation Gift of Coaching

Community work is a goal for our chapter in 2020.  We have the opportunity to partner with a nonprofit organization to make a difference in our community.  Since 2015, the ICF Foundation's Gift of Coaching Awards program has celebrated ICF Chapters with impactful pro bono coaching initiatives that make a difference in their communities and the world. Our goal as a chapter is to win this award in 2020/2021.  We will be looking to build a committee with you all as we brainstorm possible non-profits our Chapter would want to partner in our community.  Please stay tuned for more information or if you are interested in leading the committee contact Michele Tevis at michele@i2ecoaching.com.

2019 Global Coaching Survey: We’re Counting on You!

Help ICF and our research partners at PwC make the 2019 Global Coaching Survey the largest study of the coaching industry to date. Take the survey today, and encourage the coaches in your ICF Chapter to do the same. Don’t forget: If our ICF Chapter is located in a locale that achieves 100 or more completed surveys, you’ll gain access to locally specific research data when the study is published next year. Learn more.

Congratulations to the following countries, states and provinces who have reached 100 or more survey respondents as of Thursday, September 5, 2019: Alberta, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, British Columbia, California, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Colorado, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Florida, France, Germany, Île-de-France, Illinois, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, London and the Southeast, Maryland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Jersey, New South Wales, New York, New Zealand, North Carolina, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Peru, Portugal, Quebec, Romania, São Paulo, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Texas, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela, Virginia and Washington. All areas that receive 100 or more responses will receive a special breakout of the data, specific to that area.

Anti-Spam Laws and Your Chapter

Whether or not you are in a region, country or state that has enacted anti-spam laws, your ICF Chapter is still responsible for upholding those laws. However, these laws can be complex and hard to understand. ICF has provided resources for the board to better understand and implement practices that protect the data of current and past Chapter Members. We are 100% in support of confidentiality and protecting our members data.  As a member you can also set up protection within your profiles on Club Express.  If you need assistance please reach out to Todd Eckblad, Director of Membership.

Are you looking for information? Do you know that ICF has tons of research available for coaches and is the leader in conducting and providing coaching industry research and data.

Credential Holders Update

28,002: ICF Credential-holders
417: ICF Credential applications approved in August 2019

In May, ICF launched a new software platform designed to make it easier than ever for coaches to apply for and renew their credentials. With the new platform, coaches are able to: initiate and access a credential application or renewal application via their profile on the ICF website; complete applications over time, instead of all at once; monitor application status in real time; and begin logging CCEs toward renewal at any time after earning a credential. More information is available at https://coachfederation.org/credential-updates.

Part of the re-credential requirement is 3 CCEU's in Ethics.  Here is a free course ICF Global is offering to meeting the requirements.  https://coachfederation.org/ethics-cce-course.
