Board News
2020 Will Be A Fantastic Year!

We are EXTREMELY excited that the 2020 Board is shaping up nicely and want to share with you all that all open positions have a nominee. The process is that the nominating committee (Michele Tevis, Melna Jones, Coleen Chandler, and Lois Payne) will meet on Tuesday, October 8th, to confirm the nominees and present the list to the current board for ratification. Then as members, you will receive an e-mail and ballot to vote, all votes need to be submitted by October 31st. The new 2020 Board of Directors announced in November.
SAHRA Conference

We participated in the conference for the first time as a sponsor, and it was a success; we had sixty people visit our booth, and over thirty people sign-up and experience laser coaching. We would not have been successful without the support and hard work from Dawn Karner, Diane Garga, SueAnn Freeman, Tania LaFoya the planning committee. The coaches who came to help with representing our Chapter and Global Association, Sharing what the benefits are to hiring a coach and most importantly doing on the spot laser coaching were Boni LaValley, Melna Jones, Dianna Damask, Kevin Lee, Shelene Perriard, Gayle Guest-Brown, Jackie Alcalde-Marr, Tara Zagofsky, Karen Harvey and Wendy Mather  THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!   We made some great connections with possible partners/sponsors, and as it becomes more solidified, we will let you know the chapter is on the move.

Help ICF and our research partners at PwC make the 2019 Global Coaching Survey the largest study of the coaching industry to date. Take the survey today, and encourage the coaches in your ICF Chapter to do the same. Don’t forget: If our ICF Chapter is located in a locale that achieves 100 or more completed surveys, you’ll gain access to locally specific research data when the study is published next year.  Learn more.  Congratulations our chapter is part of the California location that has achieved more than 100 responses to the survey!  Let's keep it going, this helps with the progression of our profession as Coaches.

ICF Foundation Gift of Coaching

Community work is a goal for our chapter in 2020.  We have the opportunity to partner with a nonprofit organization to make a difference in our community.  Since 2015, the ICF Foundation's Gift of Coaching Awards program has celebrated ICF Chapters with impactful pro bono coaching initiatives that make a difference in their communities and the world. Our goal as a chapter is to win this award in 2020/2021.  We will be looking to build a committee with you all as we brainstorm possible non-profits our Chapter would want to partner in our community.  Please stay tuned for more information or if you are interested in leading the committee contact Michele Tevis at michele@i2ecoaching.com.

Volunteer Opportunities in ICF Awards Programs

We are currently accepting applications to serve as a judge or committee member for several upcoming awards programs, including the Chapter Recognition program, Circle of Distinction, Young Leader Award and International Prism Award. If you're interested in judging any of these, you can learn more and apply at https://coachfederation.org/awards. The deadline to complete the application is Monday, October 28, 2019, at 2 p.m. (New York).

Update on Coaching Supervision

ICF Global added a new document to our Coaching Supervision page that summarizes ICF’s position on coaching supervision, provides a definition and synthesizes current research on the subject. You can use this document as a resource to help address questions about coaching supervision. Visit www.coachfederation.org for more information.

Are you looking for information? Do you know that ICF has tons of research available for coaches and is the leader in conducting and providing coaching industry research and data.

Credential Holders Update

28,448: ICF Credential-holders
509: ICF Credential applications approved in September 2019

In May, ICF launched a new software platform designed to make it easier than ever for coaches to apply for and renew their credentials. With the new platform, coaches are able to: initiate and access a credential application or renewal application via their profile on the ICF website; complete applications over time, instead of all at once; monitor application status in real time; and begin logging CCEs toward renewal at any time after earning a credential. More information is available at https://coachfederation.org/credential-updates.

Part of the re-credential requirement is 3 CCEU's in Ethics.  Here is a free course ICF Global is offering to meeting the requirements.  https://coachfederation.org/ethics-cce-course.
