President's Message - March 2020

Hello Fellow Coaches and Friends of ICF Sacramento:

ICF Sacramento appreciates our coaching community, clients and families and desires to be supportive and connected while helping everyone stay healthy during this period of COVID-19 containment.  In keeping with guidance from ICF Global, federal and local officials, we’re suspending all in person events through April and we will re-access at that time. The good news – we’ll continue learning and supporting coaches via technology and the help of our dedicated presenters, and many ICF Sacramento volunteers.

ICF 25Year Picture Membership Renewal

Membership Renewal Season is Here!

2020 membership renewal cycle started on February 4th . Renewal season is a time to support all of our members around the globe and ensure the continued global growth of ICF.   As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary at ICF, this is also a time for us to reinvigorate our members with our shared passion for coaching. We can use the renewal cycle to update them about the value and ever-growing list of benefits ICF offers to its members, as well as some of the exciting plans we have in store for 2020.

You are a valued member of ICF Global and ICF Sacramento Charter Chapter.

Locally, I’m excited about what 2020 has in store for those of us who choose to rejoin ICF for another year:

  • Monthly Meetings - where you can gather, connect, learn, and earn CCEU’s.
  • Core Competency Tele-Class – where you can earn additional CCEU's and recommit to the core competencies of our profession.
  • Lunch N' Learns - where coaches come together to exchange awesome ideas and encourage one another.
  • Local Coach Connections – where you have the opportunity to further cement and foster the relationships between coaches within our Community.

2020 ICW

International Coaching Week 2020

Mark your calendar:  International Coaching Week (ICW) has been scheduled for  May 4–10, 2020!  We as a Chapter are reviewing options to shift this weeklong celebration from in-person to virtual events.  If you have ideas or are interested in participating in these efforts, please contact Tina Shaw, Special Events Director, directorspecialevents@icfsacramento.org for more information about International Coaching Week.

Additional Information from Global:

2020 Global Coaching Study: The Global Coaching Study is commissioned by ICF and conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The study is based on a comprehensive survey of the coaching industry, and explores topics including industry size and revenue, the business and practice of coaching, and perspectives on industry trends. The results from the 2019 Global Coaching Survey will be available in the second half of 2020 with an up-to-date picture of coaching locally, regionally and globally. More information can be found at coachfederation.org/research/global-coaching-study.

ICF Advance 2020: ICF Advance is returning later in 2020. ICF Advance deepens your knowledge of coaching science and inspires you to evolve your coaching practice, with a focus on ICF Core Competencies. Members receive a discount on registration. The event can be found at coachfederation.org/events/icf-advance.

Communities of Practice (CPs): CPs provide a virtual venue for coaches with a shared interest in a specific topic to advance their professional development; deepen their subject-matter expertise; and share best practices, emerging trends, tools and tips. Each CP is steered by volunteer leaders who help facilitate learning and organize the conversations, ideas and trends that emerge from the group. CPs are designed to promote active participation from their members; sharing and discussion are always encouraged. ICF continues to expand CP offerings and outputs to better serve ICF Members. Non-ICF Members are charged a fee to participate in CP programming, further establishing this resource as an ICF Member Benefit. Learn more about CPs at coachfederation.org/communities-of-practice.
