Find a Coach
Date: 11/12/2021
Subject: November 2021 Newsletter
From: Jason A Quintero, ICF Director of Communications

Presidents Message

Dear ICF Sacramento Community,

November is a great month to recognize and celebrate our growth over the past year.  Pause and take a moment to reflect; what are you most grateful for this past year?  What are you most proud of?  How will you take what you have learned and apply it into whatever is next for you?

As a coach; having a reflective practice is essential to maintaining presence and embodying a coaching mindset.  What’s your reflective practice?

As we move toward the end of this year, we will be winding down our Chapter meetings and events - there won’t be a general meeting in December, however, the ICF Sacramento Board Celebration Squad is busily preparing a wonderful holiday event that is sure to be a showstopper that you won’t want to miss.  We are looking forward to celebrating YOU and all your accomplishments and milestones.  Please join us!

President, ICF Sacramento

Credentialing

Are you having difficulties navigating the rules and requirements of the ICF Global credentialing process?

Do you have questions about renewing your credential or applying for a new one?

Help is on the way.

Coleen Chandler, PCC, created the new position of Credentialing Director to help ICF Sacramento chapter members with all their credentialing questions.

A typical conversation with Coleen may center on:

  • Clarifying the validity of coaching training hours for renewal or acquisition of a new credential - depending on where and when they were obtained

  • Explaining the various requirements to apply for a credential via the three credentialing paths (ACTP, ACSTH and Portfolio). Each case is different and may require adjustments.

  • Answering questions about either renewing one’s credential or going for the next credential level

  • Providing tips and explanation about the Coaching Knowledge Assessment (CKA)

  • Going over the members’ CCE units to make sure they have the proper combination of CCEUs to qualify to renew their credential

  • What to do if a credential has expired

“My mission is to make the credentialing process simpler and more enjoyable”, says Coleen. “And I love helping ICF Sacramento members grow professionally, and gain the confidence and knowledge to move forward in their credentialing journey.”

News from ICF Global

ICF Credentials and Standards has awarded its 40,000th active ICF Credential!

For the International Coaching Federation, this milestone represents a pivotal moment in our history — from the 34 coach practitioners who received the first-ever ICF Credentials in 1998 to the 40,000 who currently hold an Associate Certified Coach, Professional Certified Coach, or Master Certified Coach Credential in 140 countries worldwide.

More than that, this milestone is significant to the coaching profession, coaching clients and society at large.

Thank you for being part of this important milestone and for shining as an ICF Credential-holder.

We couldn’t have reached this milestone and, collectively, we couldn’t have had this impact without you. So, as we celebrate this historic occasion, we celebrate each and every ICF Credentialed coach who has helped us achieve it. From those just beginning their Credentialing journeys to the 34 who earned our very first ICF Credentials in 1998, we thank you for making this moment possible. We are grateful for your commitment to the highest standards in coaching and for being an integral part of this growing community.

We invite you to join the celebration by sharing your ICF Credential Digital Badge on social media! Here’s how to participate:

  1. Share your ICF Digital Badge on your preferred social media outlet
  2. Tag ICF (links are at the bottom of this email) and use the hashtag #ICFShineOn
  3. Tell the world what this milestone and your ICF Credential mean to you

We'll be watching and sharing your posts! You'll also have a chance to have you and your coaching practice featured in upcoming ICF Credentials and Standards newsletters.

Thank you for shining as an ICF Credentialed coach and helping ICF shine an even brighter light on the power of coaching!
