Our Programs and Events

Our programs and events are created in alignment with our mission: to cultivate an inclusive, courageous coaching community that elevates voices, fosters meaningful connection, and creates transformative experiences grounded in our values.

From monthly virtual and in-person gatherings to hands-on learning opportunities, everything is designed to bring real-world experience and insight directly to you — drawing on the wisdom, stories, and expertise of presenters and coaches who are doing this work alongside you. Most of our events come with the opportunity to earn CCEUs toward ICF credentialing requirements.

Whether you’re looking to grow personally or professionally, discover new ideas or techniques, build or strengthen your coaching practice, or simply connect with fellow coaches who understand the work you do, there’s something here for you.

We offer in-person and virtual connection and educational events throughout the year. You don’t need to be a member to join in!

Chapter Meetings
Our Chapter Meetings are held virtually on the second Tuesday of each month, February through November, and are a great way to stay connected with ICF Sacramento.

Chapter Meetings give you a direct connection to current chapter information, news, and initiatives — while also serving as a rich forum for personal and professional growth. Through invited speakers and relevant, thoughtfully-chosen topics, each meeting offers something valuable. From business development and coaching skills to self-care and credentialing guidance, you’ll leave with something useful and stay connected to your fellow coaches.

Lunch & Learn Meetings
Held virtually on the third Wednesday of each month, February through December, our Lunch & Learn meetings are an opportunity for members to share with, and learn from, each other.

Each session features a speaker who shares key knowledge, tools, and insights drawn directly from their own coaching practice and experience, covering a wide variety of coaching or growth topics. It's an informative, practical hour grounded in real-world coaching.

BEACON (Belonging, Equity, Access Coaching Opportunity Network) Meetings
Held quarterly, BEACON meetings are designed to increase awareness about the reasoning, value, and importance of DEIB in coaching and empower you with knowledge for integrating inclusive practices into your work.

BEACON meetings feature DEIB speakers, coaches, and cross-industry leaders highlighting trending and relevant topics, DEIB stories, and best practices. All are designed to foster a coaching community that encourages and celebrates proximity, curiosity, and collaboration across diverse groups.

Coach Business Builder Series
Our Coach Business Builder series shares useful tips and techniques to support you in building a successful coaching business.

Topics can include business tools (such as education platforms, scheduling applications, accounting programs), business methods or best practices, branding and marketing, or exercises to consider using with your clients. These are practical, interactive workshops where you’ll meet and connect with other coaches.

Peer Coaching Program
Our peer coaching program offers a multi-faceted, experiential approach to coach development in a safe and supportive environment. In these sessions, you’ll get to know other coaches connected to the ICF Sacramento chapter and contribute to each other’s development by creating a mutually-supportive learning experience.

There are two ways you can participate in the program. Coaching Triads is a dynamic, 3-session program where participants meet once a week for 90 minutes, rotating to a different role each week of the program (coach, client, and observer). Reciprocal Coaching is a great opportunity to practice your skills and earn six reciprocal coaching hours by participating as both a coach and a client.

Pro Bono Coaching Program
Our Ignite Pro Bono Coaching Program offers ICF-credentialed coaches the opportunity to provide pro bono coaching to nonprofit leaders and contribute to something larger than themselves, as part of the ICF Foundation’s international movement to accelerate positive impact on humanity and the planet.

Each Ignite project empowers meaningful social impact through six-month coaching engagements to leaders, employees, and beneficiaries of organizations supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Check our “Pro Bono Coaching Program” page to find out when the next Ignite cycle will begin.

Core Competency Series
This series is designed to facilitate thoughtful exploration of the ICF Core Competencies, inviting participants to explore in greater depth, clarity, and confidence in their coaching.

A key element of the series is distinguishing how each ICF Core Competency shows up across ACC, PCC, and MCC levels. We’ll establish a clear understanding of each Core Competency, including its purpose, underlying principles, and how it functions within real coaching conversations.

Rather than treating core competencies as checklists, participants will be invited to explore them as living practices that shape presence, relationship, and impact.

ICF Credentialing Workshops
Holding an ICF credential is one of the most powerful ways to demonstrate your commitment to excellence and ethics in coaching.

We know the path to credentialing can feel complex, and you don’t have to do it alone. We offer workshops specifically designed to help you navigate the credentialing process with clarity and confidence, whether you’re applying for your first credential, renewing an existing one, or advancing to the next level.

For newer coaches, our First 100 Hours Program is specifically designed to help you earn the hours needed to apply for your ACC credential.

New(ish) Member Welcome Meetings
These virtual gatherings are designed to welcome new — and new(ish) — members and associates to the ICF Sacramento community. These are comfortable, informal spaces to connect with fellow coaches, ask questions, and start learning about everything our chapter has to offer.

Come prepared to introduce yourself, meet your peers, ask questions about our chapter or coaching in general, and share what you’d like to gain from your membership with ICF Sacramento.

Whether you're new to coaching or simply new to our chapter, this is a great place to begin building meaningful connections within our community.

Maximize Your Membership Meetings
These virtual gatherings are open to members and associates at any stage of their membership — whether you’ve recently joined or have been part of our community for years. Each meeting provides an opportunity to explore your ICF Sacramento membership benefits, ask questions, and connect with fellow coaches in a welcoming environment.

Every session is shaped by the people in the room, so no two are exactly alike. You’re welcome to attend as many meetings as you like.

Coaches’ Cafés
Coaches’ Cafés are informal, in-person gatherings, typically held at a coffee shop, that bring the ICF Sacramento community together outside of the virtual space.

Open to coaches, those who are considering coaching as a profession, or anyone interested in learning more about coaching, these gatherings offer a relaxed environment to network, build meaningful relationships, and become more actively engaged with our chapter.

Come join us for authentic conversation and genuine connection!

Field Trips
Our Field Trips are an opportunity to step away from the screen, get outside, and connect with fellow coaches in a refreshing and unexpected way. From bike rides and picnics to exploring new places in the great outdoors, these are fun, memorable excursions.

Field trips are a wonderful complement to the personal and professional development opportunities ICF Sacramento provides, reminding us that the relationships we build are just as important as the skills we develop.

Special Events
Throughout the year, ICF Sacramento hosts a variety of special events to celebrate the coaching profession, inspire both personal and professional growth, and create peer connection and support.

Every May, we celebrate International Coaching Week with a number of events, as part of a global initiative that recognizes the profound impacts of professional coaching on individuals, organizations, and communities.

Each Fall, we host our annual conference, a powerful and impactful day-long opportunity for learning, personal growth and professional development, and community connection.

Throughout the year, you’ll find additional networking events and seasonal celebrations, all designed to bring our coaching community together.
