Director of Communications
Laurie Rich
As a Certified Grief Coach, Master Certified Life Coach, Master Certified Transformation Coach, and Certified Integrative Somatic Practitioner, Laurie supports widows who have lost their spouse, partner, or companion. Since 2020 she’s worked with women around the globe as a coach, advocate, mentor, grief companion, and support group facilitator.
Prior to 2019, when she was suddenly widowed and began her learning journey to become a coach, Laurie’s career was spent in marketing and communications, spanning more than three decades. Alongside her husband, she co-owned (and was president of) a graphic design and production company in Silicon Valley, providing marketing and communications services to companies that included Apple, Microsoft, Kaiser Permanente, Hitachi, NetApp, Santa Clara University, and Cisco Systems.
Laurie worked for many years with several Sacramento-based women-owned businesses, providing support in branding, communications, marketing, organization, and administration.
From 2021–2023 Laurie served as Communications Director for an international widow support organization. She has served on the Board of Directors for a number of nonprofit organizations, providing support in communications, copywriting, business and event management, administration, and process improvement.
Laurie is the founder and principal of Widow University, a curated online portal of essential and meaningful resources and support services for widows, offered in conjunction with several carefully-chosen collaborators.
