Please join ICF Sacramento for our virtual Lunch & Learn Session on May 27th. While we can't meet in person, we can share lunch virtually so feel free to bring refreshments with you. May discussion includes a guest speaker, and will be moderated by our ICF Sacramento Charter Chapter President, Melna Jones.

May Theme: Emotionally Intelligent Coaching. We now have over 3 decades of research on emotional intelligence (EI). The World Economic Forum has listed EI as a top employment skill for 2020 and yet, the concept of EI remains confusing for many - what does it mean, exactly? Which model of EI is best? Which assessment for EI is best? David Cory, Canada based coaching and leadership development specialist will share with you what you need to know as a coach for yourself and to best help your coaching clients to develop their emotional intelligence.

What You Will Learn:  During the discussion, we will hear David share (1) what defines emotional intelligence and why it matters for coaching (2) one of the world’s leading models of emotional intelligence (3) 5 Keys for Developing Emotional Intelligence Competencies.

David Cory, B.Ed., M.A. (Adult Education), Professional CoActive Coach, is the founder of The Emotional Intelligence Training Company Inc. (EITC established in 1998), one of the first companies in North America to offer leadership development, assessment, training, and coaching based on the concept of emotional intelligence. In the course of his work with leaders around the world David has been under armed guard in Nigeria, hosted by the Sultan of Brunei, been chased by an elephant in Zambia, kicked out of a restricted area in Saudi Arabia, and created an emotional intelligence skills development course for the entire nation of Botswana.

David has spoken at national and international conferences around the world for the past 20 years including the Harvard Medical School EQ Conference in 2014 and Closing Key Note Speaker at the Asia HRD Congress in Kuala Lumpur in 2016.
