IMPORTANT CHANGES:

Code of Ethics
The revised Code is the embodiment of many hours of work, incredible dedication and a tremendous attention to detail. The ICF Code of Ethics is reviewed every three years. The most recent update began in 2018 and involved a large Code Review Team with individuals from 16 countries. After numerous hours of research, conversation and thoughtful review, this international team is proud to provide you with the updated version you are receiving today.  ICF will be rolling out the revised Code through a variety of marketing and communications initiatives, including an Interpretative Statements document, between now and the official launch in early 2020. Stay tuned in the coming months for an updated complimentary ICF Ethics CCE Course based on the new Code. Translations of the Code have already begun and are in progress. Once available, these will be shared on coachfederation.org and via ICF Chapters around the globe. The updated Code will be effective beginning January 1, 2020.  Download the revised ICF Code of Ethics.

ICF Core Competency Model

On November 14, all ICF Members should have received an email from ICF’s Credentialing, Accreditation and Coaching Science teams regarding the outcomes of our rigorous job analysis process.  The updated ICF Core Competency model reflects the collective insights and wisdom shared with us through this comprehensive research initiative.  Ultimately, this updated Core Competency model will serve as the basis for the ICF Credentialing process through the launch of a new credentialing assessment reflecting the revised competencies. ICF anticipates a lengthy transition process, and we are targeting early 2021 for the launch of the new assessment.  All ICF Members can learn more about the updated model and have questions answered during a pair of December 10, 2019, webinars. If you’re unable to attend a live broadcast, these webinars will be recorded and you can find them on coachfederation.org.  Download Core Competency Model

NOTE: The February Chapter meeting will be facilitated by Laurie Cozart, President-Elect on the changes to the Code of Ethics and Core Competency Model. Be sure to sign up and attend as this will be a great opportunity to learn and share with your fellow coaches

Credential Holders Update

29,423: ICF Credential-holders
474: ICF Credential applications approved in November 2019

In May, ICF launched a new software platform designed to make it easier than ever for coaches to apply for and renew their credentials. With the new platform, coaches are able to: initiate and access a credential application or renewal application via their profile on the ICF website; complete applications over time, instead of all at once; monitor application status in real time; and begin logging CCEs toward renewal at any time after earning a credential. More information is available at https://coachfederation.org/credential-updates.

Part of the re-credential requirement is 3 CCEU's in Ethics.  Here is a free course ICF Global is offering to meeting the requirements.  https://coachfederation.org/ethics-cce-course.
