President's Message

I am happy to highlight International Coaching Week (ICW), which is held from May 16th to the 22nd. Make sure to browse the wide range of events you can participate in (globally!).

I thought this month would also be a great time to feature our very own Director of Special Events, Katie Kanowsky.  Katie is the organizer of our chapter ICW events, as well as a frequent host at our regular programs.

I’ve known Katie to be calm, even in the whirlwind of planning. She told me that is something she brings to her coaching as well, to help clients think more clearly, and tune into their deeper knowing. She shared with me that her favorite pastime, floating, also brings her that sense of peace. That’s right, her self-care staple is weightlessly floating in an isolation tank to tune in and self-reflect. We are so glad to have her as part of our board and local coaching community.

Speaking of our local community, I would like to plug the Coach's Café events, which began last month. These have definitely been cup-filling experiences (pardon the pun). We hope you will join a future opportunity at a time and location that is convenient for you. We will be posting more cafés on the calendar. You can also contact me directly at President@icfsacramento.org  if you would like to be a host for a café in your own city.

Cheers!

We need your help

On Saturday, May 21st, 10-1 pm, we need as many coaches as possible to provide 15-minute laser coaching sessions. You can volunteer for a little while or stay for the whole event. Sign up to coach here.

Come connect and celebrate off screen and in real life!

It has been over two years since our programs were in person and we miss seeing your smiling faces! Join us Friday, May 20th, 5:30-8:30 pm at Drake’s: the Barn in West Sacramento for appetizers and in-person conversation with fellow coaches. You can drop-in for a little while or party with us all night. Come one, come all, bring your friends; no need to be a member or have a credential. If you are a coach, we would love to connect. Come join us! (RSVP here).

Thank you in advance for getting involved and helping to spread the word about how coaching can help us all, Reimagine the Future!

Contact Katie Kanowsky, Director of Special Events, with any questions.

Coach’s Cafés

Want to build your coaching community? Join us for a Coach's Café!

Coach's Cafes are informal gatherings of coaches, meeting up in various locations, to connect, share challenges and celebrations, and engage in casual conversations. For May, we’ve added a virtual cafe to meet you where you are.

Feel free to bring a friend and attend as many as you'd like. We hope to see you there!

  • Feature 170 scenario-based questions with the updated Core Competencies.

  • Be administered in person or online.

  • Require two forms of ID.

  • Be proctored (supervised).

Please note: your application submission date will determine whether you take the new ICF Credentialing Exam or CKA.

January 31, 2023 is when the CKA and current evaluation criteria will be retired.
